2025 Test of Proficiency in Korean (PBT)

Registration for the 101st TOPIK will be open from April 28 to May 9.

The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is designed to assess the Korean language proficiency of non-native speakers and to provide guidance for future Korean language education. This examination is administered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIE) under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, in cooperation with the Korean Education Center of New York (KECNY) and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York.

Please see the details below regarding the upcoming 101st TOPIK (PBT):

A. Test Date: Saturday, July 12

- TOPIC I: 9:40 AM – 11:20 AM

- TOPIC II: 12:50 PM – 4:20 PM

*Please be seated 30 minutes before the exam begins.

*You may be assigned to a different test site if your preferred location reaches full capacity.
In such cases, we will contact you in advance.
We highly recommend registering as early as possible.

C. Test Registration

- Registration Period: Monday, April 28 – Friday, May 9

- How to Register: Please visit the KECNY website — the registration button will be activated on the opening day.

- Test Fees:
• TOPIK I: $40

• TOPIK II: $55

- Eligible Applicants: Open to all (no age restrictions)

*Test fees are non-refundable after the registration period.

*NO additional applications will be accepted after the deadline (May 9).

*Test site and test type CANNOT be changed after registration.

*A minimum of 10 applicants per test is required. If fewer than 10 people register, the test will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.

*If you require special arrangements, please contact KECNY by April 25.

D. Notes

- Items to Bring: Test admission ticket, valid ID, correction tape
*Identification Requirement (Strictly Enforced):
All candidates must present an official, valid form of identification containing a photo, date of birth, and full English name.
The information on the ID must exactly match the details submitted in your application.
No exceptions will be made.
Those without proper identification will be denied entry to the examination room and will NOT be allowed to take the exam.

- No electronic devices allowed:
Any kind of electronic device is not permitted, including smartphones, smart watches, tablets, and recording devices.
All electronic devices must be turned off and submitted to proctors before the exam begins.

Failure to submit any switched-off electronic devices will be considered cheating,

and those individuals will be ineligible to take any future TOPIK exams for the next five years.

It is the applicants' responsibility to understand these guidelines, and any disadvantage resulting from failure to do so will be the applicant's own responsibility.

E. Test Results: The printable result will be posted on www.topik.go.kr on Thursday, August 21.
